Hey everyone,
So with the approach of 8th edition I figure it'll be a good time to finally start a WFB army. I've looked at starting one for a little while but have been busy building up my 40k forces so it's gone to the wayside. Now, this isn't so much of a "what army should I play" thread but more of a "what do you play" thread. I know in 40k the majority of players play some sort of Space Marine army and I'm wondering if there is the same kind of trend in WFB. I don't really want to end up being "just another 'army-X' player".
So what do you play? What do you see a lot of?

Well, there's not that many players around here and there's no single army that seems to be more popular than any other. I play Demons of Chaos and have been looking at starting a Tomb Kings and/or Lizardmen army. Off the top of my head the other players here have High Elves, Demons, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Warriors of Chaos, and Empire. I'm not including seawolf in this since he's got like 1 of every army anyway.
I'd also take a look at what new army books are coming out soon. You certainly don't want to get stuck with an old army book and the new ones always have great new models to go along with them.

I play Warriors of Chaos and Daemons of Chaos, but I've dabbled in a few of the other armies. Depending on how good the models look in the new starter set, I might restart my High Elves, or maybe do a Skaven army.

Orcs and Goblins
I'm seriously considering starting a Skaven army….no one has been playing a Skaven army for quite some time and the book sort of indicates some possible 8th edition rules changes.

I have tomb kings, warriors of chaos, and am starting Skaven.
|
40k: chaos,tau,tyranids,witch hunters, Daemons learning them.
Fantasy: chaos, tomb kings,skaven.
BFG: chaos
mordheim: cult of the possessed
necromunda: van saar.
Curiosity begets knowledge, knowledge begets curiosity only Tzeench can sate both.

I have Warriors of Chaos, Vampire Counts, and now starting a Britonian army.

Immortality is getting a little old….
The Dark Ones will be coming out to play soon. So be forewarned, I will not be bringing the Plague to the Annual Tournament.
