Hey everyone,

I'd just like to see if anyone is interested in playing the Dark Heresy RPG. I wouldn't be able to start a campaign right away but I wanted to see what the interest was before I bought the books. Just to give everyone a little background on myself as a role-player and GM I have been playing for about six or so years. I've played D&D 3rd edition on up, a few different White Wolf games, Star Wars RPG, Aberrant, along with a few different home-brews of my friends and my own creation. I've GM'd for the last two or so years on and off and I'm hoping to set forth a new adventure into the grim dark future of the 41st millennium.

So if you are interested please post here, and tell me what type of campaign you'd be most interested in playing!

I'd definitely join in! I've been curious about playing DH for a while, but so far I really haven't found a group who's willing to play, so I haven't bought the book yet myself.

As for playstyle/game type, I tend to prefer more of a mystery/intrigue style rather than a guns-a-blazing type of game, but I'm good for either one really. It seems like DH is pretty well suited to more of the role-playing type of game, although I'm not overly familiar with the mechanics.

In short, yes! :)

i saw a copy of DH at jetpack and was intrigued. up untill then i didnt know what it was, but i also think a 40k based RPG could be amazing if done right. do you have any idea what it would be like in perspective to? anything like 3.5D&D perhaps, or closer to a 40k but with rpg aspect?
i would like to think you could use game modles from 40k to represent your character or whatever it is you have ^.^ i would love to know more about it though, definately something i could be interested in.
my playstyle is something wacky. i love plot twists, intrigue, mystery and exploration. hate repitition over and over the same thing again, love to "KILL!MAIM!BURN!" or just have to solve a tricky puzzle

Are you guys still looking for people to play dark heresy with? Me and another friend were looking for some other people to try it out with.

Glad to see there's growing interest here. I'm personally in the middle of a move right now (just moved my family from Dover to Newmarket) but If you guys want to talk more about what type of game you want to play in or just some cool things you like to see in the setting of the game, let me know. Here's a little food for thought…

Which Ordo (Malleus; Hereticus; Xenos; don't want to know) would you like to play in?

Would you like to start with one of their published campaigns/senerios or would you like somehting completely different?

Is there something you read in a Black Library book (or pretty much any other book for that matter) that you would like somehow included into the game?

What class are you most interested in playing? (just so we can avoid starting out the game with a "Psyker Battle Squad")

What is your experience with role-playing/the Warhammer 40k universe? Have you RP'd before? Have you played Dark Heresy? Do you play 40k?

Morally, towards which side would you like the group to lean, Puritan or Radical?

This is all to give me a better idea of what everyone's expectations are for when I prepare the game.

**Editted to add the last question**

I would love to play Dark Heresy, at least to give it a try. I've never played an RPG before so I need someone to teach me the basics before I become at all useful to the game.

Just to add a comment about bringing something into a game from a BL book;
In the first Eisenhorn novel; the Pillars that are setup in the Cadian sector that could possibly stop the warp has always interested me.
In one of the Gaunt's Ghosts novels (honestly, there are so many I can't remember which one) Where Gaunt find's the Mechanicum factory that builds robots in Space Marine Armour (pretty fricken awesome)

Either of those two things, if at all possible, would be awesome to bring into a game.

I'd also go Radical, simply because Puritan never really works.

Anyway, that's my two cents. I really hope something can be put together!

–Xenos or Hereticus (mutants are kinda meh :-p)

–either or works, but you have to take into account the newbie to this particular game
Is there something you read in a Black Library book (or pretty much any other book for that matter) that you would like somehow included into the game?
–easter egss are so much fun :D
What class are you most interested in playing? (just so we can avoid starting out the game with a "Psyker Battle Squad")
–what exactly are the different classes they have?
What is your experience with role-playing/the Warhammer 40k universe? Have you RP'd before? Have you played Dark Heresy? Do you play 40k?
–warhammer 40k, dawn of war, D&D 3.5 (and just roleplaying without a rulebook…. hehe) never pleayed DH.
Morally, towards which side would you like the group to lean, Puritan or Radical?
–radical :) generally chaotic neutral/chaotic good in d&d

I have never played a roleplaying game, but I have always wanted to try one. I play 40k, and I read one book, but I have no other experience.

Ok so far it's looking like people prefer a more radical feel to the campaign with either Hereticus or Xenos.

@Ranger_Slythe, I think you were actually thinking of Hereticus for mutants. Malleus fights Daemons principally but really mutants can fit into any either Hereticus or Malleus.

For those who are on the fence because of inexperience let me say that I will also be new to this. For the campaign itself we'll probably be playing their starter campaign "Shattered Hope" at the get-go. There are six startup characters for PC's but I won't be against people making their own characters. If you're looking for inspiration you can go to http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/dhadvanced.html and create one yourself. All other resources connected to Shattered Hope can be found on their website at http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_ … =50&esem=4 to include writable character sheets.

Let me know what you guys think and if you've got any more input on what you'd like to see in the game (see my previous post).

I'm trying to get into this. I'm ordering the core book and the Inquisitor's and Radical's handbooks Thursday.
