Is anyone intrested in going to Games Day this year? Tickets are on sale now and i was wandering whether anyone even wanted to go. No one's said anything about it.

I had a lot of fun last year, but am not planning on going this year. I think I may be heading out to GenCon in August instead.

They are only doing on games day this year in all of North America. The good news is that it is Baltimore. The bad news is that it is late August and I don't think there are tournaments. I don't anticipate being able to go.

Hrm Late August…
Could this be the Last Games Day? Are we enthusiasts of a Hobby in Decline?
I will know a little closer to the date… I really only Go to Games Day to see you guys… So if there isn't a Big GCG representation there, i'll prolly give it a pass.
I dreamt last night that I was Rich Enough to Commute to Dover every weekend to play in Tale of Gamers next Fall…

Nope, GenCon is farther away, in Indianapolis. It's more of an RPG convention than for wargames.

Got it's name from the City that originally Hosted it… Lake Geneva Wisconsin. It was hosted near the Original TSR offices (Home of Dungeons and Dragons) Then it got too Big and they moved it to Milwaukee, but kept the name for Traditions Sake. Then they Moved it to Chicago. Then Those evil People in Washington Bought Gaming…. And it got moved to Indianapolis after WoC bought D&D from TSR.

Other than that Gen Con is where I met Gary Gygax and R.A. Salvatore. and learned the proper way to Pronounce Drow. (Dr-Oh) Like Blow, Know or Snow.
They do usually have tables set up for miniature War Games… BUT.. They usually Intend for it to be non GW stuff since the primary games at GenCon are still WoC products and Wizards and GW don't play nice with each other… (GW Rejecting Wizards Offer to buy the company apparantly upset the Almighty WoC)

I'm planning on going to Gamesday this year. I haven't figured out the specifics of travel down there and hotel yet… but I am going.

Hmmm… flying hunh? I wonder which is cheaper… flying or driving. Flying certainly takes away a lot of the headaches though. Do you have any idea where you'll be staying at if you do go?

Uncle Sam has got me in the DC area for that time so it actually works out great for me! More than likely I'll be there.
Am I reading this right and that there is no tournament on Gamesday? I've never been so yes it is a legitimate question.
