GCG Fall 40k Escalation League
Garrison City Gamers is going to be hosting a short 40k escalation league beginning on Friday night November 6th. We will have 4 rounds with each round lasting 2 weeks. We will begin with the first round starting at 750 pts and will escalate by 250 point increments every 2 weeks with the final round being 1500 pts. The point of this escalation league (besides being fun) will be to help everyone tune their armies and get some fights in before we hold our annual full scale league in January. Check the forums for additional details.

Warhammer Arena Of Death November 7th at Elite Hobbies
On November 7th Elite Hobbies will be hosting an event called Warhammer Arena of Death. It will be a painting competition and a double elimination gladiatorial bout. Each person picks a lord level special character from any army book and paints them up. The special characters will fight one on one to the death in the arena of the fallen lord. It will be double elimination and there will be a loosers bracket; however once you are beaten twice you are fed to Killgore the Hydra. There will be a painting competition as well for the best painted special character. No duplicate characters can be chosen and choice is on a first come first serve basis. There is no points limit. Also if there is enough interest I will add a heros bracket for the hero level special characters. There will be an entrance fee of 5 dollars which includes entry to the arena and painting competition, this will cover prize support for best painted and arena champion. Also feel free to PM me if there are any questions. For more details also refer to the post in the “Warhammer Fantasy” Section of the forums.

Announcement to the Garrison City Gamers Club
Dear Garrison City Gamers,
We have been discussing about expanding our gaming community to a new level by encompassing a larger geographical area and growing out the types of games and players that we support. We have taken some big steps in creating a brand new online community called Seacoast Gamers which will encompass not only a larger area covering the seacoast of Northern New England but will also hopefully bring in players who want do to play games such as Card Gamers ie: Magic the athering, board games and Roll Playing Games.
In support of this effort we have built out a fantastic new website and we will be moving our forums onto that site as well as adding lots of new features. Garrison City Gamers will NOT be going away and will continue to be the local club based out of Elite Hobbies. We will however take a very active part in the Seacoast Gamers community which will not only benefit Garrison City Gamers by giving us more people to play but will also allow us to host some bigger tournaments. This will also allow us to support a thriving gaming community on the seacoast regardless of which shop a player is based out of or where they like to play. Think of Seacoast Gamers as an online resource for all us local gamers.
As some of you may know Jetpack Comics in Rochester has recently started carrying Games Workshop and has a small growing community of wargamers, right now focused on 40K. In our view, the more people we bring into hobby the better for everyone. Seacoast Gamers will feature calendars of events for Elite Hobbies in Dover, Jetpack in Rochester and probably Jumpgate in Portsmouth for the time being. We’ll also have some banner ads on the site for complimentary companies that sell stuff to enhance our games but we are going to do our best to not create any competition for our local retailers that we all know and love. The new Seacoast Gamers community will include some very cool features such as ntegrated forums which will feed new topics and posts right to the front page, shout outs! and an interactive calendar of events which is really good stuff.
Some of you have raised concerns that this is going to cause a problem with competition between our local shops and we do not believe this is the case. A rising tide floats all boats and if we can capture a much larger audience the hobby and gaming stores that we support will all benefit by an energized and tightly knit community.
I welcome your feedback
Regards,
-Brian (aka seawolf) Garrison City Gamers President and huge supporter of
this Seacoast Gamers initiative.

Welcome to Seacoast Gamers
Greetings and Salutations. You have stumbled upon an obscure corner of the internet occupied by a club of humans interested in gaming and located in the geographical region known as New Hampshire’s Seacoast.
The Seacoast Gamers was born from members of a group called the Garrison City Gamers based out of Elite Hobbies in Dover, NH in 2007. As time marched on the club grew we realized that there was interest in our group from across the region. To better represent gamers across the region we formed the Seacoast Gamers with the purpose of promoting gamers and local gaming shops across the northern New England seacoast region. The Garrison City Gamers still exist as the local club based out of Elite Hobbies but is now part of the larger community that is the Seacoast Gamers.
We now have a thriving community and while we started as a group of primarily wargamers and hobbyists we welcome anyone interested in playing any type of game be it miniatures, board, role-playing, or cards.
